Paleo Hot Chocolate 5-Ways

This is a follow-up post to yesterday's epic "Anatomy of  a Paleo Hot Chocolate Bar" post. If you haven't seen it yet. Stop reading this right now. Go read that post here first, then come back to this one. 


As promised, here are 5 ways to use all those goodies I outlined in yesterday's post. All of these recipes use the paleo hot chocolate "base" I outlined there, so make sure to go and check it out! Also all the ingredients for these hot chocolates, such as the paleo sea salted caramel sauce, creamed pistachio garnish, chocolate chip cookies, waffle pieces, etc. are listed in that post. Enjoy! 

paleo mint chocolate hot chocolate

  • 8 oz. prepared hot chocolate
  • ¼ tsp. mint extract *
  • Mint leaves for garnish (optional)
  1. Pour hot chocolate into mug.
  2. Add mint extract and stir. Garnish with mint leaves.
  3. *If you want a mintier flavor, add an additional ¼. tsp. mint extract.

paleo cookie-waffle hot chocolate with salted caramel-chocolate drizzle

  • 8 oz. paleo hot chocolate 
  • 1 paleo cookie
  • 3 tbsp. paleo waffle pieces
  • 2 tbsp. paleo salted caramel sauce 
  • 2 tbsp. paleo chocolate sauce
  1. Dip the rim of your mug into a small bowl with chocolate sauce. (optional)
  2. Pour 8 oz. hot chocolate into mug.
  3. Crumble waffle pieces on top of your hot chocolate, and place a paleo chocolate chip cookie on the top of the mug, or place on the side for dipping.
  4. Drizzle with chocolate sauce and caramel sauce.
  5. Serve immediately.

paleo chocolate-salted caramel (pumpkin spice, peppermint mocha, or classic ) marshmallow hot chocolate

  • 8 oz. prepared hot chocolate
  • 1-2 marshmallows
  • 2 tsp. sea salted caramel sauce
  • 2 tsp. chocolate sauce, plus additional for garnish (optional)
  1. Dip rim of mug into chocolate sauce. (Optional)
  2. Add 8 oz. hot hot chocolate to mug.
  3. Add in marshmallow and let melt slightly. Drizzle on sea salted caramel and chocolate sauce.
  4. Serve immediately.

paleo raspberry-orange hot chocolate

  • 8 oz. hot chocolate
  • ¼ cup fresh raspberries, plus additional for garnish
  • 1 tbsp. orange juice
  • Candied Orange Rinds
  1. In a blender, place fresh raspberries, fresh orange juice, and 8 oz. hot chocolate. Blend until smooth.
  2. Dip rim of mug into chocolate sauce. (Optional).
  3. Pour blended hot chocolate mixture into prepared mug, garnish with candied orange rinds and fresh raspberries.

paleo pistachio cream hot chocolate

  • 8 oz. hot chocolate
  • 1/8 cup prepared sweet cream pistachio garnish, plus additional 1 tbsp.  for garnish
  • 1 tbsp. honey
  • Chocolate sauce for garnish
  1. Place hot chocolate, sweet cream pistachio garnish, and honey in a blender. Blend on high until frothy and all pistachio pieces have broken down.
  2. Prepare mug by dipping rim into chocolate sauce. Stick remaining pistachio cream to chocolate sauce.
  3. Pour blended hot chocolate into mug. Serve immediately.
